Our Labour Law department is head up by director, Matthew Kemp, who has obtained a Master’s degree in Labour Law. Our clients range from local to national corporates, small businesses and individuals.
We have a thorough understanding of the Labour Relations Act 66 of 1995, the Basic Conditions of Employment Act 75 of 1997, the Employment Equity Act 4 of 2000 and with this is in mind and a personal approach to our clients, we deal with each matter on its own unique merits to obtain the best result for the client.
Parliament has recently enacted amendments to the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA) and the Labour Relations Act (LRA), and has also phased in the historic National Minimum Wage Act (NMWA). All of these legislative measures came into effect on 1 January 2019. Amendments to the Rules for the Conduct of Proceedings before the CCMA (CCMA rules) have also been published, and came into effect on the same day.
